Rehance ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Rehance mobile application (the "Service" or "App"). We take the security and privacy of our users very seriously. This Privacy Policy outlines what information we collect, how it is processed, and our strict commitment to protecting your personal, typing, and voice data.
1. Information Collection and Processing
A. Keystroke and Text Input (Real-Time Processing)
Rehance is an AI-powered keyboard application. All text typed while using the Rehance Keyboard is processed locally in temporary memory (RAM) to offer predictions, auto-corrections, and styling.
- No Cloud Storage: None of your keystrokes or inputs are saved, logged, or sent to our servers.
- Sensitive Fields: The App strictly honors Android platform standards and disables prediction/learning features during password or credit card field inputs.
B. Voice Audio and Speech Data
Rehance includes a Voice Coach and real-time pronunciation practice engine.
- Real-time Audio: When using the microphone to analyze pronunciation or speak to the assistant, your audio stream is translated into text locally or via standard OS speech interfaces.
- No Voice Recording Storage: We do not record, store, or share your raw audio files. The audio data is discarded instantly after processing the real-time session feedback.
C. On-Device AI Model (Offline Processing)
Rehance features a fully offline, local AI model (Gemma 3 1B) that performs grammar correction, text rewriting, and tone suggestions directly on your device.
- 100% Offline: Once the model file is downloaded, all AI suggestions are computed locally on your device's CPU/GPU. No internet connection is required, and your text inputs never leave your device.
- Optional Model Download: Users can download the model file (~500 MB) through the app settings page. We check total RAM (requires 3.5GB+) and Android version (requires API 26+) to verify local AI compatibility.
D. Diagnostics and Analytics
We may collect anonymous usage data (e.g., application crashes, feature interaction times, session durations) to identify bugs and improve stability. This data cannot be traced back to you and does not contain any input text or personal metadata.
2. Permissions Requested & Rationale
To enable real-time features, the application requests the following system permissions:
- Microphone Permission (RECORD_AUDIO): Used exclusively to capture your speech when you manually interact with the Voice Coach or speech-to-text features.
- Internet Access (INTERNET): Required for Google AdMob ads and to download the optional offline AI model file.
3. Third-Party Services
We use third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device for analytics and advertising purposes.
Google AdMob
We integrate Google AdMob to support the app financially. AdMob uses advertising identifiers to deliver relevant advertisements. You can manage personalization preferences via your Google Device Account settings.
4. Data Security & Storage
Because Rehance handles personal data strictly on-device, there is no remote database storing your keyboard inputs. Your data remains fully under your control on your physical device. We recommend securing your device using screen locks and keeping your operating system up to date.
5. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover a child under 13 has bypassed security parameters, we will immediately take steps to delete any accidental trace data.
6. Google Gemma Terms of Use & Use Restrictions
The on-device AI features of Rehance are powered by Google's Gemma model. Gemma is provided under and subject to the Gemma Terms of Use found at ai.google.dev/gemma/terms.
By using the AI features in Rehance, you agree to comply with the Gemma Use Restrictions. You must not use the Gemma model services:
- For any restricted uses set forth in the Gemma Prohibited Use Policy (available at ai.google.dev/gemma/prohibited_use_policy).
- In violation of applicable laws and regulations.

Rehance Terms of Service
By downloading, installing, or accessing the Rehance Android Application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the App.
1. License Grant
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and run the App on compatible Android hardware, strictly for your personal, non-commercial use.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App, including the virtual custom keyboard features, responsibly. You shall not:
- Attempt to decompile, reverse-engineer, or disassemble any portion of the compiled APK or source dependencies.
- Use the Groq or Gemini API endpoints integrated within the App to generate abusive, harassing, illegal, defamatory, or spam material.
- Incur excessive API requests or spam endpoints in a manner that degrades service performance for other users.
3. Subscriptions and Billing
Rehance offers optional Premium subscriptions and one-time unlocks via Google Play Billing. Transactions are subject to Google Play's standard Terms of Service and refund rules. Subscription renewals occur automatically unless cancelled in your Google Play Store Account settings at least 24 hours prior to billing.
4. AI Content Disclaimer
Rehance uses advanced artificial intelligence models (such as Gemma and LLaMA) to provide coached dialogue practice and text suggestions. You acknowledge that AI-generated suggestions are experimental and provided "as-is". We do not guarantee the factual accuracy, utility, or correctness of generated phrases. Use of suggestions is entirely at your own risk and discretion.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rehance and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the application. In no event shall our total liability exceed the fees paid by you to us during the twelve-month period preceding the claim.
